In 1995, the Functional Biomaterials & Proteomics Laboratory (formerly Enzyme Engineering Laboratory) was established at the Department of Biotechnology, Daegu University, Kyungsan, Korea.  The major goal of our lab is to develop various types of functional biomaterials having anti-obesity, anti-diabetic, and anti-cancer  activities.  

Our research is also focused on the production and characterization of functional biomaterials from various macrofungi.  More recently we have studied on  functional proteomics for discovery of biomarkers and on the development of new molecular biomedicines.  Discovery of novel biomarkers of metabolic diseases are our ultimate goal of the research.
