Our current research programs endeavor to discover biomarkers for obesity, diabetes, and cancer

and to investigate their physiological roles (funded by National Research Foundation of Korea).  

 

 

Main research subject:   Elucidation of cross-talk process and identification of novel regulatory molecules in bone-adipose-muscle axis for new obesity treatment strategy

 

Identification of  white fat-browning (beiging) materials and novel target molecules

Screening anti-obesity biomaterials from nature and studies about their molecular mechanisms

Obesity Proteomics & Functional study of obesity markers
* Discovery of marker proteins in obesity susceptibility and resistance 
* Discovery of marker proteins in gender dimorphism  

* Functional roles of identified obesity biomarkers

Obesity Genomics
* Gene expression profiling to discover biomarkers for obesity by DNA microarray and RNA-

   Seq systems

* Identification of novel regulatory genes during differentiation of stem cells to adipocyte, 

   osteoblasts, and muscle cells.
